Individual Counselling and Psychotherapy

Working with a Psychologist for your individual therapy needs can take many shapes. Regardless of what problems bring you to see me, at some point our conversation will move from the problems that led you to therapy, to the solutions that we discover together for moving your life in the right direction again. The irony is that in many cases you have successfully used these solutions in the past, but you may have momentarily lost touch with them or didn’t realise that some of them are still in place. We will work towards understanding what is already working for you, and what new things we could implement that could help move you in forward. If something isn’t working, we will look at it from another angle, try something else, until we get the recipe right. It’s really that simple!

Couples Counselling

Invariably couples come to therapy when they have run out of ideas or feel things are desperate. But couples who come to therapy have demonstrated one thing already, they haven’t given up yet. Other couples sometimes have an otherwise good relationship but are looking to improve one or two aspects of their relationship they have been struggling to get right. Both are good reasons to explore couples counselling.

Family or group therapy can be a useful way to engage as a collective to discover ways to support each other and find common ground in finding solutions for the benefit of all in the group. Whether it is a family trying to overcome a trauma or adversity in some way, whether being experienced by one or many in the group or the family, all members in the group could be affected. As a result, sometimes people are unsure whether they should be involved in family or group therapy. If you feel that you would like to be in the session (and provided the other people are okay with it) and want to find ways to help the group (and yourself), then you are welcome.

Online Counselling via Zoom or Whatsapp

Preferably on Zoom but should you prefer Skype or other online platforms, online and video counselling is something available to any who feel they would prefer this medium. Whether it is because you are not in the Johannesburg area or are unable to get away from your home or office, your counselling process can be successfully explored via online/video counselling. If you are interested in this I will gladly walk you through the process and answer any related questions.
